What You'd Do as a Volunteer

Each event has a few different volunteer roles. Pick the one that fits — exact times for each role are listed on the event page.

Cook

Help prepare fresh, from-scratch meals in our partner kitchens. Cooking shifts typically start late morning and run through the afternoon (about 5–6 hours). Real ingredients, no seed oils — we cook everything ourselves.

Serve

Be a friendly face at our events. Help plate and distribute meals, connect with families, and make people feel seen. Serving shifts run during evening dinner service (about 2–3 hours).

Volunteers age 18+ can sign up directly. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All volunteers complete a brief registration, waiver, and online orientation through our partner portal at Union Station.
